Wash paper

Hello ; first I have to thank you about questions you responded. They are very helpful.
is it possible to wash brittle pages of such a weak book ? If yes; how you wash pages of the book, while they are attached ?
also; do you use paper sizing to wash brittle pages?
thank you

These are good questions but these things are not easy to explain to a level where then you would be able to do them. You would need further training in paper conservation to actually do these things. In general. You can wash brittle pages and treat them for acidity by buffering the water with the proper amount of chemicals. You would have to be REALLY careful not to cause more damage. This is not for beginners.

You would use paper sizing to strengthen floppy paper, not brittle paper. ANY washing must be done with the pages separated. Un-bound. This is because the tension from the sewing could  cause the paper to tear or break as the paper will expand in the water a bit.
