Tipping missing pages found in another source.

The “preface” pages are missing from1797 leather bound book.  I have found a suitable replacement for the two pages.  The pages are back-to-back so I can make a duplex copy.  I am using some “antique” archival paper.  My question is the ink used to copy the two pages.  How do I protect the book so the ink will not damage the original pages?

By Damage do you mean transfer? Do some testing to make sure the ink will not do that. You could add some thin protective papers on either side if you are truly concerned. In general though, the ink should be fine and won't degrade faster than the original ink.
