SC6000 on a light leather bible that can’t be klucel-ed?

  • SC6000 on a light leather bible that can't be klucel-ed?

I have an oddly colored Bible I am repairing for a friend. I’m working on reinforcing the weak corners and was hoping to apply SC6000 to help seal it when I was finished. Because it is such a weird color and I watched the video about discoloration on light colored bibles, I didn’t use Klucel on it out of fear. But I was poking around trying to figure out how to apply the SC6000 and I came across the statement that I am interpreting as to only use it after you have Klucel-ed. Is it possible to use SC6000 without the Klucel? I’m going to try on a small area on the back that should be relatively hidden once the text block is replaced. But, I would like to know when that option isn’t available. And does the same apply for the Hewitt’s dressing, which I understand to not cause discoloration on leather, or am I mistaken?

This bible is not made of leather so SC6000 is fine to use on it. Only use it after you have touched up any coloring or it will prevent color from sticking. I hope that helps.
