Removing an endpaper

Hello again! Happy Easter. I’m trying to re-cover a copy of Death Comes for the Archbishop, and am wondering how to remove the tipped-in endpapers without damaging the first and last pages that they’re glued to. Is there a way to dissolve the glue or something? Thank you!

I have found that if you place a ruler under the tipped on page and hold it down tight against the text-block, that you can usually tug the fly-leaf upward and it will release from the old glue then you can scrape off the residue. This only works on older books.
