Page repair

0

Hello,

Thank you for your videos and for sharing your knowledge.

I recently purchased 4 books that were published from 1884 to 1892. These are the 2 worst pages I have come across. I would like to purchase your page repair kit, but am afraid I may make everything worse.

Do you think these repairs would be relatively straight forward using the paste you provide in your kit? I fear the placement of both of these.

Thank you again for being you!
Andrea Monique

Hi Andrea,

I didn't see an attached photo of the pages. I would love to see them to get a better idea how to advise you. Paste and the hinging tissue might be all you need. Not sure you need the whole kit.

    Hi Andrea,

I looked at the photos you sent. The first book is less acidic than the second book so the repairs will be easier. I actually think that the page repair kit is exactly what you need. It has the thinnest Kozo tissue that you can use to repair that missing chunk with strength and nearly invisibly.

The second book with the page in three pieces can also be repaired with the kit using the hinging tissue. for the torn line and the thin kozo on the crumpled bit on the fore-edge.

Let me know how it goes!
