How to finish the spine?

0

About 7 months ago I posted a query regarding “What to use for book board?” As we ended the question/posted answer/resolution I said I would post the end result. The boards were saved! The cover was too far gone…BUT found a usable alternative on Internet and so the end result is shown here.

While the original did NOT have any writing on spine, I would like to have some identification. In the absence of expensive equipment, what would you suggest for adding at least the title to the spine. Thanks.

That looks amazing! Great job. I recommend a printed paper title. You can do all kinds of creative things to make it look like it goes with the book. One thing would be to scan the cover and using a program like Canva or Adobe creative products you could sample the colors and use them to create a label. You can try to match the font too. I go over some of this in the live YouTube Fairy-Tales restoration videos I did. Oh, and congratulations on being the "Best Grandpa Ever!"
