Detached pages

Question

I need to reattach a cover, but the first 5 or so pages are also detached. How should I go about reattaching them, since there is nothing to attach to on one side? The pages aren't very supple, since the book is from 1901.

The course you need is 3-100: Reattach a Loose Page in a Sewn Book. This will give you lots of the info you need. Can you post a photo? Without a photo, my best guess is that you may want to trim the spine edge of those loose pages and attach them using small strips of Sekishu. This will make sure they will be flexible. Make sure that the other side of those loose pages are not also loose. See
